Schumer Says Pelosi Treated Trump Like A What?

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer noted how House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had remarked on how motherhood had prepared her to “handle” former President Donald Trump.

Schumer in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper had recalled how Pelosi had instinctively known how Trump should be handled because of having spent the first 40 years of her life raising five children. He added that this is what allowed her to deal with Trump as he is “ultimately” “a child.”

As part of the interview, Schumer and Pelosi ordered Chinese food and sat down with CNN’s Jame Gangel to discuss their time in Washington, DC. This is the first interview that the two have done together and it took place at Hunan Dynasty in Washington, DC, where the two have often met up for meals.

Pelosi has announced that she would be stepping down from her role as a speaker at the end of Congress. She is well known for her success in being able to handle the legislative process and the caucus.

During the Trump presidency, Pelosi’s confrontations with the former President had often gone viral. These included her sarcastic clapping during the 2019 State of the Union Address and even pointing toward Trump while in a Cabinet meeting.

In the CNN interview, Pelosi openly praised Schumer for his “masterful” handling of Trump and she even added that the two men had a special relationship because both came from New York. This allowed them to understand each other.
