(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – In a recent interview, Lara Trump, the new co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), indicated that the party is moving beyond the controversy surrounding the 2020 presidential election. This stance is noteworthy, especially as her father-in-law, former President Donald Trump, persists in making unsubstantiated allegations of fraud related to his 2020 loss.

Lara Trump emphasized, “I think we’re past that. It’s behind us,” highlighting that the party has gleaned significant insights from the previous election cycle. She mentioned, “We’ve learned a lot and have taken extensive notes.”

She elaborated on the lessons learned, stating, “The past is behind us, and we had to face some tough lessons in 2020. Rest assured, we are applying these lessons across the country, in every state, to ensure every legal vote is counted.”

Shortly after assuming a leadership role within the RNC, Lara Trump’s remarks reflect a strategic pivot within the party, which recently reduced its workforce significantly, including top-tier personnel. She rationalized these layoffs in the NBC interview, suggesting that the party needed to streamline its staff.

As the former President remains a pivotal figure in the GOP’s presidential race, Lara Trump outlined the RNC’s strategy to promote alternative voting methods, including early and mail-in voting, which have been criticized by her father-in-law in the past.

Earlier, she underscored the importance of “protecting the vote” for upcoming elections, advocating for early and mail-in voting among Republican constituents to secure an advantage before Election Day.

Before ascending to her current role, Lara Trump pledged to use RNC resources to support Donald Trump’s potential return to office, sparking speculation about the RNC’s commitment to cover his legal expenses. She clarified, however, that the RNC does not intend to pay for his legal fees. She assured Republican donors of prudent financial management, promising to allocate funds towards initiatives that align with the party’s values and priorities, including efforts to elect Donald Trump and other Republican candidates.
