(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Tuesday, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) announced that he would be co-sponsoring a resolution looking to oust Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

During a closed-door meeting, Massie had told his colleagues that he would be co-sponsoring Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) motion to vacate which was filed last month. He is the first lawmaker to officially endorse Greene’s efforts.

The announcement came less than one day after Johnson put forth his plan for moving in the foreign aid bills which would provide support for Taiwan, Israel, Ukraine, and other national security priorities.

On Tuesday, after the meeting Massie spoke to reporters about Johnson’s decision to have Ukraine aid on the floor. She added that there was only one single person who could stop them from descending into the same situation as last fall, and that was Mike Johnson. This was a reference to former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CaA) being ousted in October.

He continued by arguing that Johnson had three things to do: the first was the omnibus, the second was the FISA without warrants, and the third was his goals regarding Ukraine.

The Kentucky Republican also claimed that he had asked Johnson to resign from the Speakership in the closed-door conference meeting. However, the Louisiana Republican refused.

Johnson also claimed that it was “absurd” that there was such an increase in the efforts to oust him.
