(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Tuesday, Republicans were outraged following a report in the Carolina Journal which noted that teen Christian McGhee from North Carolina had been suspended from his high school after he had used the term “illegal alien.”

The publication noted that McGhee had received a suspension for three days last week from Central Davidson High School for having used in an English class assignment the term “illegal aliens.” According to the 16-year-old’s mother, Leah McGhee, an English teacher had given the students the assignment to write something with the use of the word “alien.” Following the handing over of the assignment Christian had asked the teacher whether they meant “space aliens or illegal aliens” that do not have a green card.

On Tuesday, Libs of TikTok, a conservative account on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote about the suspension pointing out how damaging it could be to the student’s “academic record.” As of 4 p.m. on that same day, the post had received over 1 million views.

Libs of TikTok had also called for this student to be supported and for more awareness to be brought to his story.

On Tuesday, Newsweek reached out to school staff; however, only one staff member replied by arguing that they were not in a position to discuss specific students because of federal student privacy protections. The staff member also noted that they were very diligent about disciplinary action and that all violations of the code of conduct were appropriately handled by the school’s administrators.
