(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Jon Stewart has become the latest Democrat to slam former President Donald for seemingly falling asleep on Monday during the first day of the hush money criminal trial.
On Monday, Trump became the first former U.S. president to appear in a criminal trial. The case relates to the hush money payment made on behalf of Trump to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election in exchange for her remaining quiet about their alleged affair.
During an appearance on “The Daily Show,” Stewart argued that after years of waiting, the first criminal trial of a former president has started.
The Comedy Central host had proceeded to play the clip of Maggie Haberman of The New York Times telling CNN’s Jake Tapper that Trump seemed to have fallen asleep during the court proceedings. Tapper asked for more information on what she observed. Stewart then questioned what Tapper was not understanding about Trump’s head dropping, his eyes closing, and his drooling.
During that part, he impersonated a New York mobster while talking about Trump having allegedly fallen asleep. He then proceeded to claim that Trump had committed so many crimes that he had been bored during his trial.
Following the reports about Trump allegedly falling asleep, many high-profile Democrats had slammed him.
President Biden’s former communication director Kate Bedingfield in her post had called Trump “Sleepy Don.”
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) also took to social media to say “RIP Sleepy Joe,” which is a comment that Trump often makes about Biden.
