(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Tuesday, the Federal Election Commission (FEC) will be investigating Texas Senator Ted Cruz for a second time in less than a year, following a request from an advocacy group. According to the claim, the FEC will be looking into the $630,000 in advertising revenue that has been moved from his podcast to the super PAC that is supporting his reelection.

The Verdict with Ted Cruz podcast is hosted on iHeartMedia which has paid $630,850 to the Truth and Courage PAC that is backing Cruz’s reelection efforts.

In November, it is expected that Cruz will face a tough election challenge, as the Democrats are targeting his seat to strengthen their majority in the Senate. He will be up against former NFL player and current Rep. Colin Allred in the race.

In 2018, Cruz had only narrowly managed to beat Beto O’Rourke, his Democratic challenger, by less than three percent of the vote. This has resulted in his seat being considered highly competitive in the 2024 race.

FEC data has shown that donations from iHeartMedia have occurred since March 2023 and have made up one-third of the PAC’s revenue since the start of the year. Critics have also called on federal election authorities and the Senate to look into whether this constitutes an ethics violation. However, Cruz’s team has maintained that he has done nothing wrong.

The FEC complaint was filed by Campaign Legal Center and End Citizens United, alleging that the company might have been improperly directed to send to the PAC the funds.
