(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – The Democratic National Committee slammed former President Donald Trump, who is most likely the 2024 presidential nominee, over the reports that he was considering having former top adviser Paul Manafort help him with the GOP National Convention.

A Washington Post report emerged in which it was alleged that Trump was focused on bringing Manafort back. However, the DNC claimed that Manafort, who had been an adviser to Trump in 2016, was one of the “absolute weirdos” who could end up joining Trump’s circle at the convention in July. Previously Manafort had been convicted of bank and tax fraud felonies following the investigation of Robert Mueller about the alleged collusion between the Russian and Trump campaign. These allegations were later proved to be a hoax.

In 2020 Trump had pardoned Manafort after seven months. He was then released to home confinement.

The DNC’s Rapid Response team in an email statement argued that Manafort would be the perfect addition to the “C-Team of election deniers” and other weirdos that were part of Trump’s circle as he attempted to take over the MAGA GOP.

In the DNC statement, it was also noted that there was confirmation that Trump had a “soft-on-crime approach” for everyone who had been involved in storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. They further noted that considering the financial state of the RNC they could not see what could potentially go wrong having a convicted con man such as Manafort to assist in the running of a multimillion-dollar convention.
