(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Friday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) slammed X owner and tech billionaire Elon Musk after he repeatedly and falsely claimed that the Democrats were attempting to “import voters.”
Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, in response to Musk that he was literally an immigrant. For once, she’s right – he was born in South Africa.
Musk’s claim had been shared in a Daily Caller story, which had been reposted. Musk had argued that the Biden administration was undeservedly giving illegal immigrants green cards. While this claim is false, the headline used by the Daily Caller is a reinterpretation of a Politico article in which it was noted that the Biden administration was looking into expanding the cancellation of removal for undocumented immigrants.
The Department of Justice follows the cancellation of the removal process in cases where undocumented immigrants would qualify for permanent residence under a judge’s approval. Through this process, there are around 4,000 people who are given cancellation of removal each year.
The report with Politico also detailed several restrictive measures that administration officials have considered, including asylum restrictions.
White House officials have repeatedly said that reports of measures that are being considered by the administration are not necessarily an indication that action is forthcoming. Instead, it shows that officials are constantly looking at all the options available to them.
The Biden administration, as well as President Biden, have repeatedly stated that the primary plan for the administration would be to pass a bipartisan Senate border policy and that currently, they don’t have a set “Plan B” in place.
