(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – The conservative faction of the Republican party is hoping that if former president Donald Trump, who is the presumptive Republican candidate, manages to win back the White House, they will be able to push for major education reforms.
Trump has repeatedly during his campaign touted the record of his first administration regarding school reforms and has pointed out that if he won back the White House, he would aim to reverse the Title IX reforms of the Biden administration. He would also be pushing back against student loan forgiveness.
However, in general, Trump has always placed his focus away from Education with a lot of his attention being placed on the economy and immigration. Still, this does not appear to bother conservatives as they would like to see education return to the local and state governments.
Center for Education Policy at the Heritage Foundation director Lindsey Burke has argued that education is a local and state issue and that there were not a lot of changes that the federal executive branch should bring. She added that this does not mean that Trump should completely step away from the issue, but rather that the focus should be on education reforms at a state and local level.
One of the most important issues that Trump could potentially contend with relates to Biden’s student loan forgiveness program, as he has forgiven over $160 billion for several borrowers.
SocialSphere, in a new poll, determined that 48 percent of voters consider student loan cancellation an important issue ahead of the November presidential election.
