Pollution Privilege? The Latest Ridiculous Example of “Racism” in America

We really thought we’d seen it all when it came to wild accusations of racism from the mainstream media. But this new story from the Associated Press takes the cake. Not only are minorities in America underprivileged in terms of wealth, educational opportunities, policing, and politics, we are now to understand that they are actually being penalized by the very AIR they breathe! Yes, a new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences confirms that blacks and Hispanics are being forced to breathe in far more pollution than they actually put out, which gives the left just one more way to scream “white privilege.” As if they needed another.

From the AP:

African-Americans and Hispanics breathe in far more deadly air pollution than they are responsible for making, a new study said.

A study looked at who is exposed to fine particle pollution — responsible for about 100,000 American deaths a year — and how much different races are responsible for the pollution based on their buying, driving and living habits.

Scientists calculate that Hispanics on average breathe in 63 percent more of the pollution that leads to heart and breathing deaths than they make. For African-Americans the figure is 56 percent, according to a study published Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

On the other hand, non-Hispanic whites on average are exposed to 17 percent less air pollution than they make.

“Even though minorities are contributing less to the overall problem of air pollution, they are affected by it more,” said study co-author Jason Hill, a biosystems engineering professor at the University of Minnesota who is white. “Is it fair (that) I create more pollution and somebody else is disproportionately affected by it?”

Sigh, it never ends. Wasn’t it just the other day that we were talking about Twitter idiots and their claim that Will Smith was too light-skinned to play Venus and Serena Williams’ father in a movie? We thought THAT was stupid, but this “study” just shows you that there is literally no bottom to this pit.

Who studies this kind of thing, anyway? Why would it even enter your scientist brain to say, “Hmm, I wonder if blacks are breathing in more pollution than they create?” What purpose on God’s earth does this study serve other than to give the racial grievance industry another day’s worth of headlines? What purpose, other than to divide this country further and push the left’s climate agenda forward another half-step?

But we guess when it comes to modern science/propaganda, those are the only reasons you need.
