(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Sunday, the first flight from Israel carrying American citizens landed in Florida. The flight was part of an executive order issued by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis last week that authorized Floridians stuck in Israel following the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hamas to be rescued.

DeSantis stated on Sunday that over 270 people have landed in Tampa and seven in Orland as part of the flights that helped the American evacuees leave Israel after all commercial flights were canceled. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he welcomed the almost 300 Americans rescued from Israel following the outbreak of the violent attacks.

Nonprofit organization Project Dynamo was part of the rescue efforts helping Americans escape from Israel. The Florida Division of Emergency Management is planning on organizing more flights that will carry supplies to Israel and will help Floridians return to the United States. The supplies being sent by the government include hygiene products, clothing, medical supplies, and children’s toys for those in Israel who have been affected by the ongoing violence.

DeSantis, who is one of the 2024 Republican presidential candidates has also publicly condemned the Hamas attack on Israel repeatedly, which is a stance that many American lawmakers have also taken.

Following the outbreak of the violence over 1,400 Israelis have died, while dozens others have been taken hostage. After the Hamas attack, Israel launched a counteroffensive in Gaza, which is under Gaza control which has led to at least 2,670 Palestinians losing their lives.
