(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Thursday, the FBI warned that several foreign adversaries including Iran, Russia, and China are increasing their efforts to influence the 2024 presidential elections.
During a call with reporters, a senior FBI official claimed that there was a more extensive range of election threats than ever before.
The official pointed out that while every single adversary had their own way in which they were trying to undermine U.S. democracy, are consistent across different countries.
China specifically has been attempting to influence the upcoming presidential election through the creation of fake social media accounts that are pushing for a divisive narrative. The efforts are similar to those that Russia had made in previous elections.
The bureau specifically noted that the artificial intelligence tool was utilized in many of the operations. The official pointed out that this is not only lowering the barrier of entry for people who are working in this space but also creating an increased amount of fake content. It pointed out that it also increases the ability of the nation-state actors to increase their operations and make them much larger than they had been in the past.
In its annual threat assessment, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence pointed out that the efforts of the Chinese government had increased and were focused on increasing the societal divisions in the United States. The report also noted that China had been using online personas as part of their efforts to influence the operations similarly to how Russia had previously done.
