(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Following the House Democrats’ conference on Tuesday morning, Fox News Digital tried to see which possible nominee Democrats would support for the House Speaker and whether a possibly bipartisan Speaker could be selected after the GOP nominated Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan.

House Oversight Committee ranking member and Maryland Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin stated that if Jordan did not manage to win the necessary votes he could see a bipartisan Speaker being selected. He then proposed that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) could be a possible option for the position and that the Republicans would be able to work with him.

Raskin added that they were certainly in support of a bipartisan option and that he believes that the House GOP would be able to work with Jeffries. He added that the House Minority leader was very “well organized,” truthful, and “legislative prolific.” He proceeded to argue that this could be a possible solution.

However, he noted that if the Republicans were unwilling to vote for a Democrat then there are many Republicans that he personally could support, including former Rep. Liz Cheney. As he pointed out previously, she had been the Republican Conference chair meaning that she was in third place in the Republican hierarchy.

Raskin added that there were others that he could potentially support but that he would not want to reduce anyone’s chances of becoming the next House Speaker by saying their names publicly. The Maryland Democrat added that it appears that any sort of bipartisan solution immediately makes a candidate disqualified from the side of the Republicans.
