( – Former President Donald Trump has warned Republicans to not fall into the “traps” set by Democrats regarding abortion and other programs. While speaking with Breitbart News earlier this month, Trump noted how many GOP candidates were hurt after the midterms by talks that Republicans were planning on cutting Social Security.

President Joe Biden and other Democrats frequently promoted such talking points in their messaging ahead of the midterm elections which yielded disappointing results for the GOP.

Trump told Breitbart that the Republicans had fallen “into the Democrat trap.” Trump also said that he had heard of candidates discussing possible entitlement reforms and he had said that “’That’s the end of his career.’”

Trump added though that this is not a matter of career, but rather the fact that people have been paying for Social Security and thus, they are entitled to take their money. He added that it is not necessary to cut Social Security and that he would never pursue cutting it.

Following the midterm elections, Trump launched his 2024 presidential campaign and he promised that if he were to return to the White House he would never cut Social Security. He continued on to say that abortion is another key issue that the Republicans are using as a trap.

Trump said that there should be “three exceptions” with abortion: for rape, incest, and when the life of the mother is in danger. He added that many Republicans handled the question improperly and that without these three exceptions it is impossible to win the abortion debate in most parts of the country.
