(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Monday, former President Donald Trump’s legal team moved to block three key witnesses from testifying in the hush-money trial which is set to start in New York next month.

Todd Blanche, the lawyer of the former President is looking to block the testimony of Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer and fixer, as well as the two women to whom he is accused of having made hush-money payments to stop them from talking about his alleged affairs. This includes Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model, and Stormy Daniels, an adult entertainer.

The motion questions the witnesses’ credibility and points out that Cohen had previously perjured himself. It further points out that Daniels, aka Stephanie Clifford, was intending to offer a false prejudicial testimony concerning the former President.

Trump’s legal team is also set on banning the phrase “catch and kill” from the trial. They are also fighting to not have the “Access Hollywood” infamous recording included as they have argued it is inflammatory and unduly prejudicial evidence. It is further pointed out that it has no place at the trial which relates to accounting practices and documents.

“Catch and kill” refers to the practice of stopping certain negative stories from running in tabloids and media.

The Trump hush money case specifically focuses on the allegations that Trump had his former fixer, Cohen, made payments to both McDougal and Daniels to secure their silence regarding their affair. Trump has continued to deny the affair took place and has pleaded not guilty to the charges relating to the falsification of documents to conceal the payments.
