Trump Loses Fight With DeSantis

Dinesh D’Souza, a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump, is urging Trump to stop his attacks on potential GOP candidate Ron DeSantis.

Currently, Trump and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley are the only two major Republicans to have joined the 2024 presidential race. Florida Governor DeSantis is widely expected to also join the race within the next few months. According to most polls, DeSantis is currently Trump’s biggest challenger.

In a post on Truth Social, D’Souza wrote that Trump does not need to be attacking DeSantis and that Trump’s attacks only make the governor appear “like the presumptive nominee.” He then added that Trump was the most likely nominee and that the best thing that Trump and DeSantis could do was forge an alliance that would benefit the GOP, the nation, and their own political ambitions.

Trump on the other hand does not appear to have heard D’Souza’s advice and instead continued to attack DeSantis on Tuesday and over the weekend. Recently Trump also slammed Fox News and the New York Post for the reports and publications on DeSantis.

On Tuesday, Trump took to Truth Social to state that Florida had been doing well long before “Ron DeSanctus” took office there. He added that people from New York were moving to Florida because of the taxation and crime, not because of the governor.

In another post, he targeted Fox News for their coverage of DeSantis’ event in New York which only had a crowd of 139, while not covering Trump’s event at Club 47, West Palm Beach, Florida which had thousands of attendees.
