For the second time this week, former President Donald Trump has heavily criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis claiming that he is “disloyal” and that his stance regarding the entitlement programs would bring his political downfall.

DeSantis has not yet announced whether he is going to be joining the 2024 presidential race, still, Trump has frequently attacked the Florida governor who is in second place in the 2024 primary according to most polls.

On Sunday, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social to write that DeSantis’ attack on Social Security and Medicare has “destroyed DeSanctimonious.” He then proceeded to state that DeSantis has lost a lot of support because “MAGA refuses to Endorse disloyal people.”

Steven Cheung, a Trump spokesperson, reaffirmed the statements made by the former President stating that DeSantis has “long embraced plans to cut Social Security and Medicare,” as well as increasing the age of eligibility for the two entitlement programs.

He added that “DeSantis is colluding with his globalist handlers to go full NeverTrump in order to gaslight the people into thinking” that the two programs should no longer be available to Americans. Trump on the other hand has clearly stated that he intends to continue supporting Americans and work to “protect benefits seniors worked for and paid for their entire lives.”

In the past few weeks, DeSantis’ poll performance has been dropping. Trump has also taken the opportunity to frequently attack DeSantis and to tout how he is leading the polls.
