On Sunday, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) claimed that there was a double standard in U.S. politics – one in which the House Oversight Committee can demonstrate how the Chinese Communist Party paid money to President Biden, and one in which former President Donald Trump can face indictment over the alleged hush-money payment scheme.

Scott responded to an Oversight Committee memorandum, telling the “Sunday Morning Futures,” that there is a “double standard” where if “you’re Trump” everyone can attack, but with Biden, the law needs to be followed to the letter. Scott argued that this has caused Americans to be fed up with the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the federal government in general.

On Thursday, the House Oversight Committee wrote in a press release that “on March 1st, 2017, less than two months after Vice President Joe Biden left public office, State Energy HK Limited, a Chinese company, wired $3 million to Rob Walker’s company.” The committee also showed that Walker is an associate of the Biden family and that State Energy HK Limited is connected to the Chinese Communist Party-backed energy company CEFC China Energy.

The press release also states that the day after the $3 million was wired, another $1,065,000 was wired to “James Gilliar, another Biden family associate.” Following this, the Biden family received “$1,065,000 in payments over a three-month period through different bank accounts.”

In his statement, Scott argues that they need to investigate what happened with that money.
