However, he has argued that when he had sent the messages with the demands he had been either “high or drunk” and that he regretted having sent them.

At the same time James Comer (R-KY), the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, pointed out Hunter is trying to avoid lying under oath. The Daily Mail and The New York Post report pointed out that during Wednesday’s official closed-door testimony Hunter Biden had admitted to having been either “high or drunk” when he had sent the Whatsapp message about being sitting with his father. The readout from the testimony notes that Hunter Biden has claimed that the message was something he was embarrassed about and that he had sent it to the wrong recipient.
The hearing is related to the investigation into Biden’s family business and the “foreign influence peddling” case that Comer has brought forward. At the center of this incident is the Chinese state-linked CEFC China Energy, as it is alleged that Hunter Biden had used his father’s political influence to increase his business profits. If this is proven true, it would connect now-President Joe Biden with an impeachable misdemeanor or crime.
