(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Tuesday, Capitol Hill Assistant Chief of Police Sean Gallagher slammed lawmakers over the chaos on Jan. 6, 2021, and how it had inhibited the ability of law enforcement to respond to pipe bombs that were present. He further added that the riots that were occurring at the Capitol took precedence over other things.

During a hearing titled, “Three Years Later: Assessing the Law Enforcement Response to Multiple Pipe Bombs on January 6, 2021,” Galagher was called to talk about the incident. The Subcommittee on Oversight, Committee on House Administration Chair Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) has launched this series in an effort to diminish the Jan. 6 Select Committee that had investigated the Capitol attack and had placed the blame on former President Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, Loudermilk specifically focused on the pipe bombs, which had only been included in five “passing” references in the committee’s 845-page report on the Capitol attack. On Monday, in his report from the attack, the Republicans had spent over 90 minutes discussing pipe bombs.

There have not been any arrests for the several pipe bombs that had been placed outside the headquarters of the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee a day before the attack. The bombs in question had never ended up going off.

In his confession, Gallagher reiterated the failures of the U.S. Capitol Hill Police on the day of the attack. He added that the root cause could end up being blamed directly on the lack of officers.
