(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) argued that he would not be lying on behalf of the GOP regarding the reasons he was not choosing to seek reelection.

Last November, Buck previously announced that he would not be trying to win reelection. On NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday” he had argued that there had not been a change to the things he had wanted for the country. However, he argued that there had been a dramatic change in the world around him. He pointed out that they have gone from having the “Tea Party” upholding the principles of the Constitution and conservatism to being overtaken by populists. He proceeded to tell host Chris Stirewalt that they were advocating for things that he considered to be quite dangerous.

When asked why he had decided to step down from Congress, Buck stated that several different considerations had led him to make this decision. He argued that the MAGA crowd had pushed for a primary against him the last time he was up for reelection but that he still had been able to win 75-25. He pointed out that he had no concerns regarding the primary or losing a general election. Instead, he claimed that he just knew it was time for him to step down and that this was a point in his life where he was seeking to do other things, like spend more time with his family as well as travel less for business and more for recreation. He added that there were a lot of things that he had considered before making this decision.
