(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) slammed Alabama for the recent ruling that would have frozen embryos and fertilized eggs considered people and claimed that this move was just going to increase the “war on women.”

During his interview on Saturday with NBC’s “Meet the Press” Newsom referred to Alabama’s decision as a serious threat. He then continued by noting that he was worried about the possibility that the United States Supreme Court might once again set the tone of the debate that they are having. This was a reference to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022, which essentially put an end to the federal right to abortion.

Newsom pointed out that this was not just a war on travel or reproductive health but also women and contraceptives.

He claimed that the Republicans’ stance on abortion was going to give more allowance to rapists rather than families, forcing women who do not want children to be mothers while  depriving families struggling with infertility of the “privilege you and I have had as fathers and parents.”

He continued by arguing that the GOP was arguing that rapists had more rights to bring the babies into the world than the women they’d victimized and that families were desperate to retain control. These remarks were made during an interview on CNN’s “The Lead” with anchor Jake Tapper.

His remarks for the Republican Party come after a court in Alabama had found on Monday that the state’s Wrongful Death of a Minor Act could also be applied to unborn children regardless of the location they are in. Due to this recent decision, some health facilities immediately stopped in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.
