(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has slammed the Republican National Committee (RNC) following Lara Trump’s recent claim that all funds needed to be directed towards former President Donald Trump winning the presidential election.
During an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” co-anchor Johnathan Karl questioned Haley about the comment made by Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law. In response, Haley slammed Trump and accused him of trying to use the party’s funds for his own personal benefit and legal woes. She also claimed that he was trying to impose his control over the party.
On Sunday during the appearance, Haley argued that it needed to be a “wake-up call” for the GOP across the country and that looking at the facts, his campaign reports had shown that over $50 million of campaign contributions were being used to cover the personal legal fees relating to the cases against him. She added that Trump has also attempted to preemptively name who he would like to see serve as the RNC leaders.
Lara Trump’s pledge to support Donald Trump had come only days after her father-in-law had proposed that she should be selected to serve as the party’s new co-chair. Trump had also endorsed North Carolina Republican Party Chair Michael Whatley to become the RNC chair.
Karl questioned Haley over her having previously pledged support to Trump if he won the party’s nomination. However, Haley reiterated that she did not think Trump was the right person for the White House right now.
