(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Rep. Dean Phillips from Minnesota who has launched a long-shot presidential campaign against President Joe Biden in the 2024 Democratic presidential primary recently issued an apology to Vice President Kamala Harris after he had made comments criticizing her.

In an interview with the Atlantic that was released on Tuesday, Phillips had noted that he had heard from other Democrats that Harris might not be the best option if President Biden is unable to continue serving. However, this comment could have potentially hurt his chances with Democratic voters. As part of his remarks, Phillips also pointed out that he had not personally seen the “deficiencies” others had in Harris and that he was only repeating what he had been told by others.

Phillips continued by arguing that others who are more familiar with the Vice President had told him that she was not positioned well and was unprepared. He added that others have also criticized Harris for not having the best disposition and competencies to run the Presidential office.

Following the release of the interview, Phillips posted on Wednesday an apology on X, formerly known as Twitter in which he argued that he should not have referenced the opinions that others have shared with him.

He added that he owes the Vice President an apology as the things he shared do not represent his opinion of her and that he had a lot of respect for Harris. He noted that he owns his mistake and that he was apologizing not only to Harris but also to anyone else who has faced similar circumstances.
