Punchbowl News reported on Wednesday that EMILY’s list, a group focused on supporting pro-abortion candidates, had decided on a list of 23 House Republicans who they will target over their stance on abortion access, following the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade last year.

Their list of GOP House members includes Reps. Juan Ciscomani (AZ), David Schweikert (AZ), Ken Calvert (CA), John Duarte (CA), Mike Garcia (CA), Michelle Steel (CA), David Valadao (CA), Lauren Boebert (CO), Maria Elvira Salazar (FL), Ashley Hinson (IA), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA), Zach Nunn (IA), Don Bacon (NE), Tom Kean (NJ), Anthony D’Esposito (NY), Nick LaLota (NY), Mike Lawler (NY), Marc Molinaro (NY), George Santos (NY), Brandon Williams (NY), Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA) and Jen Kiggans (VA).

Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Democrats have placed a lot of their attention on abortion rights and even used the issue as one of their main campaign messages in the 2022 midterm elections. According to polls, 27% of voters believe abortion rights are the top issue to consider when choosing who to vote for. Of those voters, most support the Democrats by a 3-to-1 margin.

The only other issue to be considered more important than abortions was inflation, and the difference was only 4 percentage points.

Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the Democrats managed to close the gap against their Republican challengers in the midterm elections, which led to the Republicans having an underwhelming performance during the 2022 midterms.
