( – On Friday, Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene completely changed her stance on releasing the security tapes from January 6th, 2021, stating that it would just threaten the Capitol’s security.

In a recent interview on the right-wing channel Real America’s Voice, Greene alleged that the release of the footage to the public would just risk the lives of those who were at the Capitol grounds that day even if they did not commit any crimes or enter the Capitol, and would risk the Capitol’s security. She added that this is one of their biggest concerns with the videotapes and that, if released, it is likely that these tapes will create an increased security risk at the Capitol.

Greene in her comments also pointed out that the security footage on that day was taken from over 1,700 video cameras.

In terms of her concerns about those who were on the grounds that day, she claimed that technologically-savvy leftist organizations might use facial-recognition software in order to identify all those who were in the video and lead the FBI and DOJ to them. She proceeded to say that while some people had committed crimes and should be held accountable, many other people in this case had not done so.

Previously, Greene had repeatedly called for the tapes to be released to the public, stating that in this way everyone would know what occurred and what did not. On Wednesday she also announced that House Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) had granted access to the footage to three separate outlets, two of which were Just the News founder John Solomon, and American Greatness senior writer Julie Kelly.
