(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Tuesday, as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — accompanied by her partner, Riley Roberts — cast her vote at the Florence E. Smith Community Center in Queens, New York, the New York Police Department (NYPD) removed the press.

According to a report by The New York Post, Janice Scurry, an election supervisor, instructed the NYPD to remove the press despite a photographer for the Post presenting an election letter and confirmation from the Board of Elections media that permitted their presence.

Yet officers from New York’s 115th Precinct were called to secure the entrance to the polling, guaranteeing media couldn’t access the site.

As Ocasio-Cortez exited the polling site, members of the press informed the progressive Democrat that they had been ejected from the site. She responded with a laugh, shrug, and “Sorry.”

Tuesday’s incident comes days after Ocasio-Cortez attended a Saturday rally for fellow “Squad” member Representative Jamaal Bowman (D-New York), who lost his primary on Tuesday.

At Saturday’s rally, Ocasio-Cortez, voicing her support for Bowman, suggested the “establishment” had been targeting Bowman because he spoke up for the plight of Palestine and was among the first in Congress to call for a ceasefire.

However, as she made her remarks, pro-Palestine protesters chanted, “AOC, you can’t hide, you’re supporting genocide.”

The New York Democrat was joined by fellow progressive superstar Bernie Sanders at Bowman’s rally in The Bronx.

Yet their support for Bowman wasn’t enough to rally support, considering the Congressman became the first House Representative to lose their primary on Tuesday.
