Girlfriend Of Deceased NHL Player Shares Heartbreaking Message

(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Over the weekend, Adam Johnson, an American ice hockey player for the Pittsburgh Penguins died following a “freak accident” on the ice where his neck got injured.

Following his death many have paid tribute to the ice hockey player, including a message written by his girlfriend who had reportedly been present at the time of the fatal injury.

Ryan Wolf in her post shared the tribute written by the Augsburger Panther, one of the teams that Johnson had previously played for, in an Instagram Story on Monday. In her own post, she wrote that she would miss him forever and that she would always love him.

The injury had occurred during a game on Saturday between the Sheffield Steelers and the Nottingham Panthers at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena. At the time of the incident, a player from the opposing team collided with 29-year-old Johnson.

During the collision, the blade from the skate of the player of the opposing team cut Johnson in the neck. On Sunday morning, the Panthers issued a statement expressing devastation over the death of the player following the “freak accident.” They proceeded to send their condolences to all of Adam and his girlfriend’s family and friends. They noted that everyone at the club was heartbroken over the incident and the news that Adam had passed away.

The Sun noted in a report that Wolfe had been in attendance at the game when Johnson was injured on the ice. She had also reportedly run to the ice after the injury.
