(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Former President Trump in a new statement on his social media platform Truth Social on Thursday pushed for Republican voters in Nevada to sign a petition that would require voters to provide identification in order to vote at the polls.
Trump noted that the current effort to require Voter identification is being pushed as an amendment to the State Constitution. However, as he pointed out, this could only happen if there were enough Nevada Citizens to sign the petition for the matter to be included on the Ballot for the November 5th, 2024 election.
Trump argued that everyone who was voting in the Republican Caucus in Nevada needed to sign the petition supporting Voter identification. As he pointed out this Petition was circulating in Caucus locations and was a “very ‘BIG DEAL.’”
In November, Repair the Vote, a GOP PAC in the state had filed a ballot initiative that was aiming to push for an amendment to the state constitution that would make it a requirement for voters to present a photo ID to vote at polling places. The initiative included several identification measures, including requiring a Social Security number or driver’s license number for people to cast their mail-in ballots.
The initiative is being opposed by a voter who filed a lawsuit to block it before the upcoming election. However, if the new laws successfully pass, then the state would have some of the country’s “strictest” voting laws, as noted in the complaint.
