(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Saturday, top security officials issued a statement in defense of women serving in the U.S. Secret Service, a week after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life.
The Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas joined by other security officials issued a statement noting that after the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, there had been many people who had put out statements questioning whether women belong in law enforcement, including the Secret Service. However, in the statement, they argue that these claims are “insulting” and “baseless.”
Following the assassination attempt, there have been increased criticisms that have emerged against the Secret Service as many people have questioned why the 20-year-old shooter had access to a rooftop from where he had a clear line of sight to Trump during the campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
The statement notes that regardless of the size of each community, women served in all levels of law enforcement, including campus, tribal, state, local, and even federal. They added that these individuals are highly skilled and trained, putting their lives on the line every day for the security of others. It is added in the statement that here people deserve our respect and gratitude.
The statement pointed out that the United States Department of Homeland Security elevates women who serve in law enforcement. This will only result in their department becoming better and the United States having more security. They added that they would also continue to recruit women in law enforcement.
