(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Thursday, the Pew Research Center released a new poll that found that Republicans who support former President Donald Trump are less likely than Republicans supporting other candidates to accept or compromise on issues.

Sixty-three percent of Trump supporters have claimed that they wanted their candidate to be pushing forward Republican policy instead of reaching compromises through collaborating with the Democrats. Overall, Republicans are split on the topic of compromise, with half of the respondents being supporters of the idea of compromise.

Among GOP voters, those who are supporters of former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley appear to be in favor of compromise the most, with 72 percent arguing that the Republican candidate would need to work across the aisle. The poll also found that over half of the supporters of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) also supported the idea of compromise rather than partisanship.

Trump supporters make up the largest percentage of Republican voters, as he is currently leading the primary polls with over 51 percentage points separating him from Haley and DeSantis who each have around 11 percent support within the GOP voter base.

In the Pew survey, two-thirds of Republican voters claimed that they did not believe the primary GOP race would be a close one, while over 56 percent stated that the campaign so far has been boring. There is only one month to go until the start of the primary season with the Iowa caucuses. In Iowa, Trump is leading the race by a smaller percentage than he is leading in other states.
