(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – In Somalia, a small plane continued to drive off following its landing crashing into a protective barrier and shattering upon impact.
The Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) stated that the accident had not resulted in any injuries or fatalities. The SCAA also noted that the preliminary report from the investigation will be released as soon as the investigation is completed.
On Tuesday, a video was taken from the incident at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu. It shows that the plane ran off the tarmac and crashed into the protective barriers. Upon impact, the wing of the plane exploded with many of the plane pieces flying off.
The Halla Airlines flight plane had on board four crew members along with 30 passengers. Their landing occurred at around 12:30 p.m. At the time of landing the pilot did not report any problems. The accident did result in two people being injured according to the Somali minister of transport and civil aviation, Fardowsa Osman Egal.
The airline’s spokesperson stated that there will be an investigation of the incident and that they are going to analyze the cockpit voice recorder and black box.
In July 2022 a similar incident occurred in Mogadishu where a plane carrying 30 passengers had flipped upside down during landing. All of the plane passengers had survived that plane crash. The airport’s authority has reported that there are more than 150 domestic and international flights daily from Mogadishu airport.
