(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Kai Cenat, a Twitch streamer and influencer popular among black teenagers, was arrested by New York Police after a giveaway hosted in Union Square Park resulted in chaos in lower Manhattan due to the number of young people in attendance.

Early on Friday, Cenat announced the meetup where he was going to provide several PlayStation 5 consoles as well as a number of video games and computers. Following the announcement of the impromptu event thousands of young fans arrived in the area, which resulted in police needing to shut down many of the streets surrounding the park as well as re-route the subway lines that were close by.

Videos began to circulate online featuring the teenagers dancing and stomping on cars, as well as causing general chaos and disruption due to the sheer number of people present. One of the attendees had used a fire extinguisher against the others in the crowd. NYPD Chief Jeffrey Maddrey noted during a press conference later that day that those gathered in the park had committed violent acts both against police officers and other members of the public.

Maddrey also pointed out that the Police had made many arrests and that dozens of those in attendance, as well as police officers, were injured during the event. He added that he had personally seen young people leaving the crowd with their head or face bleeding. There were also a lot of people who suffered from asthma attacks, anxiety, and panic attacks. He pointed out that there was a lot of suffering by those in the crowd and it took them some time to be able to completely get the situation under control.

In a video, Cenat can be seen being taken by police officers after 5 p.m. on Friday.
