UCLA Sued By Students Over Wildly Discriminatory Move

(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Three Jewish students at the University of California Los Angeles are suing the university for “cowardly” permitting anti-Israel protesters to create a “Jew exclusion zone,” that only allowed those who pledged their loyalty to the Palestinian cause to enter.

Religious liberty law firm Becket filed the lawsuit on behalf of the students on June 5.

The suit is also the first challenge the California university has faced in responding to the pro-Palestine protests.

The suit alleges one student was prevented from walking through a pro-Palestine encampment while heading to class. At the same time, another had been “blocked from approaching the encampment by anti-Semitic activists” who were assisted by the university’s security.

The suit also alleges that a Jewish second-year law student who attempted to observe the encampment had been “shooed away by a security officer,” who harassed the student and claimed she was “the problem.”

The suit claims UCLA administrators were aware of the zone — and had hired security to monitor it and “discourage unapproved students” from traversing the blockade to prevent further conflict.

The complaint, which names UCLA administrators, the UC Board of Regents, and outgoing Chancellor Gene Block as defendants, claims the administration cowardly abdicated its duties to guarantee “unfettered access” to the university’s education opportunities or protect Jewish communities. The suit states this abdication is immoral and illegal.

Since the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel and the subsequent Israel-Hamas war, UCLA has become an epicenter of antisemitic activism, which includes graffiti on bathroom walls that called for the liberation of Palestine as a sovereign state, and declared “F**k Jews.”
