(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social to slam Letitia James, the New York State Attorney General over her allegations that he had frequently exaggerated his net worth by as much as $2.2 billion within a single year. James’ accusations are part of an ongoing civil lawsuit against Trump, the Trump Organization, and some of his adult children.
In response, Trump stated in his post that he had “billions” more dollars than the ones that James’ had “falsely claimed.” He added that the case brought forth against him constituted “Election Interference.”
According to the court filings that James’s office released on Wednesday they are claiming that for over a decade, Trump had been exaggerating his wealth by anywhere between 17 and 39 percent each year. This could mean that Trump was exaggerating his wealth by up to $2.2 billion each year.
The lawsuit by James was first filed in September 2022 and in it, she accuses Trump, the Trump Organization, and three of his adult children of having purposefully overvalued their business.
One of Trump’s attorneys, Alina Habba, has insisted that her client had committed no wrongdoing.
On Friday, Trump also slammed James, pointing out that he was being targeted and that no jury had looked through this case. He further argued that there were “NO EXTENSIONS, NO COMMERCIAL DIVISION, NO CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS,” or anything else, and that Judge Arthur Engoron hated him.
As part of the lawsuit, James is looking for $250 million in compensation from Trump and his adult children as well as to have them completely banned from operating a business in New York.
