(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – A new Quinnipiac University poll has found that former president Donald Trump has a narrow lead against President Biden in a hypothetical 2024 match-up. The poll also found that around half of the voters surveyed were not happy with the current possible nominees and have argued that they would like to see new faces enter the presidential race.

The poll which was released on Wednesday showed that 48% of those surveyed supported Trump’s presidential bid, while Biden’s bid was supported by 46%. This is the first time that the former President is leading in a Quinnipiac poll since February. Quinnipiac also pointed out that almost all of the polls concerning the 2024 general election have thus far been close races.

The poll found that 52% of voters would prefer to see other candidates join the 2024 presidential races. Currently, there are at least a dozen candidates vying for the White House, however, only 42% have stated that they are happy with the current field.

Democrats and Independents are more likely to state that they are dissatisfied with the field with 58% and 72% respectively calling for more candidates to join the race. Republicans on the other hand are happier with the current field and only 29% stated that they want to see additional candidates join the race.

There are currently a total of seven GOP candidates who are trying to win the party’s nomination. Trump continues to have a strong lead in that race with 64% of voters supporting his candidacy.
