(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – A new Emerson College Poll has placed former President Trump in the lead in a hypothetical matchup against President Biden in 2024. According to the new poll, 44 percent of respondents said they would support Trump while only 41 percent said the same about Biden. This means that currently, Trump has a 3-point lead in a hypothetical 2024 rematch.
There was also 10 percent of respondents who said they would support someone other than these two, and 4 percent were undecided on whom they would support.
The same poll in November had shown Biden in the lead with 45 percent, while Trump was lagging behind by 41 percent.
Despite the fact that in a matchup Biden appears to be doing worse, his approval rating seems to have increased by 5 percent. In fact, in January his approval rating was 44 percent while in November it was only 39 percent.
Currently, the possibility of the two men going head-to-head in 2024 seems to be increasing, as Trump is the only candidate in the Republican party to have placed a bid on the White House for 2024. President Biden is also expected to announce his re-election campaign next month.
Regarding the primaries, 58 percent of Democrats wanted Biden to be the Democratic nominee, while 55 percent of Republicans wanted Trump to be the Republican nominee. Trump is also leading the Republican primary by 26 points, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) trailing behind him.
