( – On Friday, former President Donald Trump took the stage at the Lincoln Dinner in Iowa while the song playing in the background was Brooks & Dunn’s “Only in America.” Many users took to social media to point out the irony of the song that was being played from the loudspeakers as it noted that some people could end up in “prison.”

The same song was used before every single Republican presidential candidate took the stage to deliver their 10-minute speeches.

However, one user on Twitter claimed that Trump’s team had been enraged by the choice of song made by Gov. Kim Reynolds. Others pointed out the lyrics and how they might apply to Trump who has been indicted twice in the last year.

Dave Aronberg, the State Attorney for Palm Beach County also took to Twitter to point out how the line talking about prison plays exactly as Trump gets on stage. Mike Murphy, a Republican strategist, also pointed out that with this decision on the song, Trump finally understood that Reynolds had not accidentally gotten the job. He added that previously she had attended an event by Tim Scott.

The song selected is known for its hopeful sound and for exhibiting American patriotism. In one part, it states about the children in the U.S. that “One could end up going to prison, One just might be president.” While the attending crowd did not notice the irony in that statement, many users online were quick to comment on it and how it related to Trump.
