Former President Donald Trump once again touted his success in recent polls where his lead over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been growing ahead of a possible 2024 GOP primary match-up. Similarly, Trump pointed out his recent poll numbers against President Joe Biden in potential 2024 face-offs.
Trump took to his Social Media app, Truth Social to point out how his polling numbers were “GREAT!” He proceeded to say that in a new poll, he was winning against DeSantis in a 61 to 19 percent vote while also “winning BIG against ‘Hopeless’ Joe Biden.” He continued to state that his success in the polls was the reason that the Democrats “are rolling out their Fake Prosecutors.” He added that he hoped Republican leaders were paying attention to what was happening and then went as far as to say “An eye for an eye?”
On Tuesday, Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 charges of falsifying business records in a Manhattan court following his arraignment in connection to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s probe. The investigation was looking into the alleged hush money payment made on Trump’s behalf to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election in exchange for her silence over their affair. Trump has repeatedly maintained that he did nothing wrong and that he never had an affair with Daniels.
On Friday, in a Reuters/Ipsos poll, the former president had 58 percent of Republicans and Independents vote whereas Ron DeSantis had 21 percent. The poll was released after Trump’s arraignment.
