( – On Saturday night following his victory in the GOP primary in South Carolina, former President Donald Trump argued that he was uncertain that GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley was even in the race. He then told Fox News Digital that his main focus was on defeating President Biden in the 2024 general election.

Fox News Decision Desk called the South Carolina Republican race only moments after polls closed. Trump won the state against former two-term South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. This win has brought him one step closer to securing the 2024 Republican nomination.

On Saturday night, Trump touted his victory during an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital. He proceeded to tell the network that he had been honored to have gotten the largest vote in the state’s history. He noted that he is with Senator Lindsey Graham who told him that he had beat the previous record by double which was a compliment to the voters and to the efforts to make America great again.

Trump was also asked whether he wanted Haley to drop out of the presidential race, to which he replied that this was not truly something he was thinking about and that instead, his focus was on defeating President Joe Biden. He then pointed out that he was not even fully sure if Haley was in the race as he had managed to set up a race in every state primary.

Trump had previously had a strong win in the Iowa Caucuses and the primary in New Hampshire, among other states. He now had a bigger-than-anticipated victory in South Carolina.
