Former President Donald Trump has stated in a recent post on his social media network Truth Social that he believed he should get a payout following the settlement between Dominion Voting Systems settled and Fox News.

In April, Dominion and Fox settled the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit, with Fox News agreeing to pay $787.5 million to Dominion. The lawsuit specifically alleged that the network had perpetuated false claims about the 2020 presidential elections being rigged and their machines not working properly.

Trump, in his post, stated that Dominion got close to a billion dollars, while he has for years faced “Fake News, Hoaxes, Scams, and Investigations,” and has still not received anything. He added that this was not how things are supposed to work. His post on Truth Social came after his media group filed a lawsuit against The Washington Post on Saturday.

According to one expert the lawsuit filed “doesn’t make any sense.” In it, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), which runs Truth Social, is looking for $3.78 billion in damages from the Washington Post which they accuse of posing an “existential threat” to the company following a “years-long crusade” against the company.

Camron Dowlatshahi, a Los Angeles-based employment and defamation attorney, stated that he does not even think the entire company is worth $1 billion, so how would it be possible for them to have been injured so much to the point where “business is worthless” according to some of the statements in the article. He proceeds to state that this does not make sense.
