(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social on Tuesday to argue that he has never been a supporter of and would never back the idea of imposing restrictions on preventative birth control. He also stated that he would fight to ensure that the GOP would never back a ban on contraceptives.
Trump in his post argued that the claims that he would ever support a ban on contraceptives was based on a Democrat fabricated lie. He added that this was complete misinformation and that the Democrats did not have anything else that they could possibly run on other than “FAILURE, POVERTY, AND DEATH.”
Trump pointed out that he was not a supporter of imposing any sort of restrictions or ban on birth control and that this was something that the Republican party also would not support.
Multiple studies have shown that access to contraceptives significantly cuts down on abortions, so Trump’s stance on this topic could prove to be a wise move to appease voters on both sides of the abortion argument.
Trump’s comments came after his recent interview with KDKA, a local Pittsburgh station, where Trump had been asked whether he would support restricting access to contraception. Trump replied that they would release a policy on this soon.
When asked whether he was supportive of setting restrictions on emergency contraception, such as the Plan B pill, Trump claimed that this would need to be decided by the states and that many states have completely different policies than others.
On Tuesday, Sarafina Chitika, the spokesperson for the Biden campaign argued that women from across the United States were suffering before the post-Roe v. Wade nightmare. She added that if Trump won another term, it is clear that he would want to further escalate this situation and would most likely fight to restrict access to emergency contraceptives and birth control.
