Former President Donald Trump’s lawyers have dubbed the Georgia special grand jury investigation into the 2020 election “clown-like” following the statement made by the forewoman of the jury to different media outlets.

Drew Findling and Jennifer Little, Trump’s defense attorneys, spoke to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Wednesday to state that they were considering filing court motions responding to the public comments made by forewoman Emily Kohrs. As they noted, her remarks suggest that the grand jury was not completely professional during their investigation.

Findling noted that this “carnival, clown-like atmosphere” that has been portrayed over the past couple of days takes away from the grand jury’s reliability.

In the past week, Kohrs has given a number of interviews in which she has provided more information into the special grand jury’s investigation and report, a redacted version of which was released last week. She added that those recommended to be indicted were many, stating that the list is “not short.”

However, she did not provide any information regarding who is in the recommendations.

However, Trump’s legal team is claiming that these comments show that the grand jury might not have conducted all of their proceedings professionally.

In an interview with The New York Times, Findling said that Kohrs’s comments regarding the number of people recommended for indictments might have “poisoned” the process.
