(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Former President Donald Trump during an interview on Des Moines, Iowa’s WHO Newsradio 1040 revealed that it would be “very dangerous” if the speculations about him being indicted in connection to special counsel Jack Smith’s probe into his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election prove to be true, and especially if he is arrested and detained in connection to the case.
He added that even talking about the possibility of being arrested could be dangerous because many of his supporters are even more passionate now than they had been in 2020 or 2016.
The only way for Trump to be detained would be if the Department of Justice claimed that Trump was a danger to the general public in connection to the charges that Smith might bring forward regarding Jan. 6. However, Trump has pointed out that what is an actual danger to Americans is the fact that the Justice Department has been weaponized and that the President was choosing to lead politically motivated investigations that could lead to the imprisonment of his leading opposition.
Trump said during the interview that what they were attempting to do constituted election interference.
Allegedly there is also a conflict of interest regarding Smith as his wife had previously donated to President Joe Biden’s campaign and is working as a documentary producer for former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker in an interview with Newsmax revealed that if Trump ends up being detained in this case, it will not only be an example of election interference but it could also be against the law. He added that it is clear that they are attempting to push Donald Trump off the presidential race, and that pretrial detention would just be part of their efforts to stop him from campaigning.
