(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social to warn Republican lawmakers against agreeing to a border policy if they do not get everything they ask for to completely cut down the surge of immigrants entering the country through the Southern border. This warning could potentially further complicate the efforts of Congress to reach a bipartisan agreement.
In his post, Trump argued that they did not think there was a possible “Border Deal” unless the GOP got everything that they wanted, as millions of people had entered the country illegally. He added that the United States would soon become a great country once again.
Trump went on to say that he did not doubt that Mike Johnson, the House Speaker, was only going to make a deal that would be great for the U.S. border. As he pointed out there is no Country unless they can have “Strong Borders and Honest Elections.”
The comments from the former President came only hours after Speaker Johnson (R-LA) and other congressional leaders met with the White House to discuss potential future paths they could take to pass a national security funding request that the Biden administration had made. This includes funding that Ukraine requires in the war with Russia or any additional funds required in the Israel-Hamas war.
Lawmakers noted that the focus of the meeting was on highlighting that Congress was running out of time to pass any emergency supplemental. However, President Biden has stated that they are willing to make compromises when it comes to border security to get funding for Ukraine.
