(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Friday, state lawyers revealed that former President Donald Trump will be testifying in the civil business fraud in New York on November 6th. Previously it was expected that the two sons of President Trump included in the suit, Donald Jr. and Eric, would also be testifying in the trial. However, on Friday, the situation became clearer after the judge ruled that Ivanka Trump, the former President’s daughter, is obliged to take the stand.
The civil fraud case was brought forward by New York Attorney General Letitia James who stated that Trump and his family had inflated their wealth over the years in order to gain access to more beneficial business deals and loans. Trump has denied these claims and has argued that the case is completely politically motivated because James is a Democrat.
Trump and his two sons are defendants in the case; however, the state has determined that they will need to testify before the defense can start presenting its case. It is possible that the defense may also call for them to take the stand.
While Ivanka Trump had originally been one of the defendants in this case. However, the case against her was dismissed months earlier. Her attorney and defense attorneys argued that she should not be required to testify in this case as she has not worked in the Trump Organization since 2017 and is no longer a resident of New York. However, the state’s lawyers claim that as the former executive vice president of the Trump Organization, she has information to provide that is relevant to the case.
