(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Thursday former President Donald Trump canceled a news conference that he had scheduled for next week in which he was going to further push his unfounded claims that there had been election fraud in the 2020 election in Georgia. These are the same claims that led to his indictment by a Georgia grand jury earlier this week.

In a post on Truth Social Trump argued that his lawyers had instead told him that it would be better if all his allegations of election fraud were compiled into a formal legal filing that would help them fight against the more recent indictment. He added that for this reason it was no longer needed for him to hold a news conference.

In a previous Truth Social post on Tuesday, only one day after his indictment, Trump had claimed that there would be a press conference at his Bedminster, N.J., golf club on Monday where he was going to bring forward a lot of evidence that helps support his claims about election fraud in Georgia.

However, Trump’s layers appeared to be concerned about what effects the news conference would have in the case against Trump. Still, Trump has spent the last few weeks being a lot more vocal about his belief that there was fraud in the 2020 presidential election, despite the fact that there is no evidence to indicate that had been the case.

Trump was indicted earlier this week in Fulton County, Ga., on 13 charges all connected to his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state so that he would win the White House.
