(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Tuesday, former President Trump told reporters that Michael Cohen, his former lawyer and fixer, was a “proven liar.” The criticism came right as he entered the Manhattan courthouse where Cohen was set to testify in the civil court case against Trump.
Trump continued his criticisms of Cohen by stating that he was not only a liar but a “felon” who has had to spend time in prison because of his lies. He added that they were now going to enter the courthouse where they would see him.
Trump further pointed out that Cohen was only a part of the trial because he had been trying to get a “better deal for himself.” He added that if any other judge was handling this case, it would have already been over because he and his family had not done anything wrong.
Cohen arrived at the courthouse on Tuesday for his long-anticipated testimony in the trial. This is the first time Cohen has had to be face-to-face with Trump after their falling out. Before their relationship went sour, Cohen had claimed that he would take a bullet for Trump; however, the two men no longer are on good terms.
The civil case against Trump was brought forward by Letitia James, the Attorney General of New York, who considers Cohen to be one of the case’s star witnesses. Cohen had served as the general counsel and executive vice president of the Trump Organization previously. James has pointed out that in 2019 during his testimony before Congress Cohen had claimed that Trump had overstated his wealth before taking office. This led to her launching an investigation into Trump’s business and personal finances.
