Angry that President Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu caught onto their scheme to take their anti-Semitic roadshow to Israel, Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar held a press conference on Monday to denounce the Israeli government and threaten to shut down the annual aid the U.S. gives to our Middle Eastern allies. Of course, at the same time, Omar denied that Israel was a true ally, because apparently true allies let in lawmakers who have made it clear that they want to destroy them.
“We in the United States have a constructive role to play,” Omar said at the press conference. “We give Israel more than $3 billion in aid every year. This is predicated on them being an important ally in the region, and the only democracy in the Middle East. But, denying a visit to duly elected members of Congress is not consistent with being an ally, and denying millions of people freedom of movement or expression or self-determination is not consistent with being a democracy.”
Yeah, well, the last part of your sentence explains why the first part of your sentence came to pass, but then, you already knew that.
The truth is, as upset as Tlaib and Omar are pretending to be over this whole thing, they couldn’t be happier that they were denied visitation rights. This has given them yet another boost into the spotlight and has allowed them to promote their anti-Semitic views to a wider audience than ever before. This is clear from the way Tlaib continues to lament her inability to visit her Palestinian grandmother…even though Israel expressly granted her permission to make a private visit. That was just the lifeline Tlaib did NOT want, as it made the Israeli government look humane and friendly, which is quite contrary to the EVIL, NAZI image she wants them to have. So she stayed home.
The White House was unmoved by the congresswomen and their plea for attention.
“Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar have a well-documented history of anti-Semitic comments, anti-Semitic social media posts and anti-Semitic relationships,” said White House spokesman Hogan Gidley. “Israel has the right to prevent people who want to destroy it from entering the country – and Democrats’ pointless congressional inquiries here in America cannot change the laws Israel has passed to protect itself.”
That these two women are in Congress is embarrassment enough. That they are quickly turning into the face of the Democratic Party is a truly sad state of affairs.
