Study Says Men Face More Hardship and Discrimination Than Women

Hey, here’s a study you won’t hear a thing about in the mainstream U.S. media. In fact, we had to go all the way to the UK’s Daily Mail to find coverage of a worldwide study that found that our commonly-held beliefs about gender discrimination and the patriarchy are, well, completely backwards. According to the study, women are a lot better off in most countries – including the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Australia.

From the Daily Mail:

A method that assesses the forms of hardship and discrimination facing men and women has revealed males have it harder in 91 countries out of 134.

Women were disadvantaged in only 43.

A study looked at 6.8 billion people around the world and scientists developed a new way of measuring gender inequality.

The UK, the US and Australia all discriminate against men more whereas Italy, Israel and China are harder environments for women, according to the study.

Researchers say this is due to men receiving harsher punishments for the same crime, compulsory military service and more occupational deaths than women.

The study was carried out by the University of Essex and the University of Missouri-Columbia and published in the journal Plos One.

“We’re not saying that women in highly developed countries are not experiencing disadvantages in some aspects of their lives,” explained Professor Gijsbert Stoet, who worked on the study from Essex. “What we are saying is that an ideal measure of gender equality is not biased to the disadvantages of either gender. Doing so, we find a different picture to the one commonly presented in the media.”

No doubt this study will be torn apart by the feminist blogosphere, which wouldn’t have a reason to exist if they took an actual hard look at the “discrimination” that women supposedly face in the modern West. Still, that won’t change the underlying facts. There is a reason than “men’s rights” groups have gained traction over the last several years, and there is also a reason why men’s suicide statistics are going through the roof in the U.S. With the entire political focus on women and what we can do to make things “equal” for them, men are being increasingly marginalized, demonized, and left without a meaningful role in society.

This can, must, and WILL result in nationwide catastrophe sooner than later, but then again, so will most of the left’s misguided attempts at progress. It’s just a matter of which one catches up to reality first.
